Peter became interested in music at an early age taking his first organist post at the age of 15. He was a pupil of David Johnson Suborganist of Derby Cathedral. During this time he became fascinated with composition and improvisation as well as music technology and the development of musical tone/timbre.
He later entered Birmingham Conservatoire where he graduated with a degree in Organ Performance following very inspiring training from his tutors Professor David Saint and Douglas Hollick. Whilst at the conservatoire he was able to travel to Holland, Hamburg and Paris for additional masterclasses.
As part of a major thesis in 2004 he launched the Organ Sound Archive
project which aims to promote the British pipe organ using the 'Hauptwerk' virtual pipe organ software. The pilot project took place using the brand new Klais Concert Organ at Birmingham Symphony Hall and the project has attracted a great deal of interest from around the world.
He continued postgraduate studies at Birmingham City University and in 2005 he was appointed as the Head of Music at the Denes High School in Lowestoft.
Outside of music, Peter is very keen on aviation and he is hoping to complete his Private Pilot's Licence. He is also keen on the countryside and farming. He lives in Suffolk with his wife Hannah and and his son Thomas. Peter is a committed Christian.
